 'The Big Ballet' leads the way to show the World that you don't have to be skinny to dance!
"A comedy ballet of weighty elegance and adorable humour" Brilliant. The girls are aged 16 to 28 and all weigh over 15 and a half stone. The Big Ballet was formed in 1994,it was set up to challenge stereotypes and social standards and is finally coming to the UK at the end of February. "A ballet like no other ever seen in the UK before, Amande Concerts presents The Big Ballet, an ensemble of 16 Corps de Ballet dancers, each weighing no less than 220 pounds and united in a common cause; not to lose a single pound." The female dancers weigh an average 20 stone and are an average size 22. The UK tour is starting at the end of this month, and will hopefully show that you don't have to be sphelt to be agile and very fit!
