Although very delicious plain or with a little butter/marg, in our house this has become known as 'Sicky cake' due to it's appearance after 24 hours of soaking the ingredients!

You need to use equal quantities of the ingredients - I use a pint mug and that makes two 2lb loafs

Ingredients

Equal quantities of:

  • Albran
  • Dried fruit
  • Self raising flour
  • Brown sugar
  • Milk

 

Method

  • Put Albran, fruit, sugar and milk in a bowl and leave to soak for 24 hours. If in a rush use warm milk
  • Add flour and put in loaf tin - Gas 4 for 1 1/4 hours
