A childhood favourite of mine Smile My Mum used to save all the broken biscuits in the bottom of the tin until she had enough to make this... these days we don't really eat biscuits, or ever have enough crumbs in the bottom of the barrel and I refuse to crush up good biscuits....

Ingredients

  • 4oz Soft margarine
  • 1oz Cocoa powder
  • 8oz Biscuit crumbs/biscuits crushed
  • 3oz Golden Syrup
  • 2oz Raisins
  • 4oz chocolate (cooking chocolate is fine)
  •

Method

  1. Grease a shallow cake tin, melt the margarine, syrup and cocoa powder in a pan
  2. Add the raisins and biscuit crumbs, press into the tin and leave to set
  3. Melt the chocolate and spread over the top
  4. Leave to set/cool
